For an elevated tea-tasting experience, the Mill Unit Case is a convenient accessory for switching tea leaves in the Cuzen Matcha Maker. When drinking specialty teas, like our Single Origin cultivars, the best way to fully experience the unique profile of each tea, is to prevent leaf-mixing. By replacing one Ceramic Mill Unit with another and storing the original Mill Unit in the Mill Unit Case, you can have the ease of comparing each tea in its purest form, without the hassle of cleaning out the Mill Unit every time.

The Mill Unit Case is made of sturdy, food-safe tin with a double-layered lid to keep moisture and sunlight out. This allows the Cuzenist to keep their unit and the matcha leaves in the unit, safe and fresh until switching them back into the Matcha Maker.

About Kato Seisakusho

Kato Seisakusho has been producing premium tea canisters for 120 years. Production of the inner tin lids, like the one on the Mill Unit Case, has become less common, as there has been a decline in the number of skilled artisans who are able to craft them. This makes the company’s canisters special, like the specialty tea they’re used to store.

  • The basic canister form of the Mill Unit Case, before being painted.
  • An artisan makes tins at the Kato Seisakusho factory in the same fashion that the Mill Case Unit is created.
  • An artisan airbrushes a tin at the Kato Seisakusho factory in the same fashion that the Mill Case Unit is crafted.
